I have a question:
How did you get their Watermark off?
When I looked at it, theirs had a Watermark on it.

The image I found didn't have a watermark, the artist's signature was at the bottom - but that's the portion that is cut off. Also, I've been a member of that site for quite some time, so whenever I visit the site, I'm logged in using a marvel comics website account, the account registration is free - I think it's worth the 2 min. to sign up if you like comic books, they offer quite a few of their titles that can be read on line. It's possible that when you login to the site, those watermarks may be removed from certain images. No image wizardry on my part, all I did was find a wicked picture of spiderman, crop & resize it to the required size, adjust color hue/saturation & export as a 16 color .bmp image and "presto", awesome spiderman bootskin (that's just my humble opinion of course)
Thanks for the great feedback Johnny, I can always count on you for a boost!

updating all of my past bootskins to the best they can be is something I've been thinking about for a long time. Over these past several months, alot of my other skinning work along with bootskins has really improved my graphic/image editing skill set to the point where I look at my original stuff and know that I can do much better. I want to look back my entire collection and know that it's the best it can be, whether it be the images used, the colors & color rendering, combining multiple layers of images & transparencies to make a really great bkgrnd image, progress bars, etc. It will take substantial amount of work & time but I think it will be worth it when it's all said & done. Since we don't do any of this work for the money, my only real motivating factor is pride of work - making something good enough that other people might want to use it as well because they like it also.

And I know this from experience.
What you thought was good then, but needs improved now, and will look perfect when you're done, will only need improving again in the future. No matter what, we're always improving and what we like today will only look okay tomorrow. Especially if you're a perfectionist at heart. And I know you and Hog are perfectionists.
Soooo, the battle nevers ends.
