Ooh! These are nice! You need to fix perspective though. both the ends on yours are the same angle but for the 3d effect, you need to have the left one more tilted than the right. Other than that, I love the diamond plate one.

Oh, wait. It IS a tiny bit tilted like that but it's really steep.

John - I used the perspective transform in PS to maintain the correct angles on both sides. I came to the conclusion that that looked the best rather then independent transforms on both ends. But by all means if you can throw something together and let me take a look so I can see what you mean and replace these if need be.
Thanks for the comments

Messiah - Thanks buddy, appreciate it.

BTW, as I said in the description I still have the shadow template handy if anyone wants to slap that on there images to help with the correct perspective. I can also lend assistance with a good technique for getting a reflection along with the shadow if anyone is interested. Just leave me a post on my WC page.

PS, if everyone yells at me enough (as a comment on this page). I'll get off my lazy ass and make the right and left zoomers and possibly figure out a tab.

These are great! The Mac suite that I downloaded didn't come with a dock background, so this is just what I needed!

Great Stuff,

however you should upload the "original" incl. shadow and reflection effects. This is what makes the "original". Could you do this please?!

Thanks a lot

Shouldn't the top be upside down?

In most cases yeah, but in this case, no.
If you really want yours upside down then flip the image and tinker with the .ini file to get it the way you like it.

Hi TSA Element,

Could you please explain the way that everybody understands!
Thanks!
Your wording below:

I've decided to include the .psd template for shadow and reflection. The .psd file includes an icon I made awhile back for CD4 to use as a guide. For the layer mask, it would be easiest to copy the original layer, then drag and drop the layer mask copy onto your image. That way all of your icons will have a standard reflection.

Could you please explain what is original layer? What is layer mask? Is the condition that I have Adobe Photoshop or similar?

Thanks in advance

Best regards

badblueboy

hey sorry for the blank posts i dont know what happened?

anyways my questions was how do you get the icons to float away from the bottom of your screen without moving the actual dock? all my icons are stuck to the bottom of the dock which is on the bottom of the screen so i dont get the reflection look. Can you help me out?

Thanks

Could you make it so it has a 2d look on the side like the real thing.

Badblueboy,

The file I included (.psd) is a photoshop file. You can open the file in a few different Adobe Programs (ImageReady, Illustrator, etc.) as well as Macromedia's Fireworks. I apologize if this doesn't suffice, but besides this the only other option would be to make all the icons for everyone, which obviously is not feasible. If you don't have photoshop you can always download a 30 day demo.

If you have fireworks, this link should help you import the document: WWW Link

Explanation:
Original Layer = The original layer mask layer that I included in the download.
Layer Mask = A layer mask is a layer that interprets the color white as being visible and the color black as being invisible (or transparent). This effect is what fades the reflection from visible to invisible (using a white to black gradient).

Onetrack,

To get the icons to "float" away from the bottom, you need to edit each icon to include the shadow and reflection (which can be done using the photoshop template I included in the download). If you don't have photoshop I would recommend you download a 30 day demo.
