Handles
Where, oh where did that handle come from?
Monday, August 7, 2006 by KiloKrash | Discussion: Community
"KiloKrash, what the hell kinda name is that! You better not be doing any cocaine! You think I’m stupid, but I know these code words you kids use. Kilo means a kilo of coke, Krash means you’re crashing because you overdosed. How could you give me that name as an example, you should be ashamed."
After I collected myself, I explained to her that KiloKrash could be linked to many things. I however, used ‘Kilobyte’ and ‘PC Crash’ to create my handle...no NOT cocaine. Let’s see, add the crash, subtract the byte, replace the C with a K and Voila!
Now to my point of this post…How is it you came about choosing your handle? Is there an interesting story behind it? Please speak, share with the community your reasoning for your decision.
Cheers,
KK

I came up with 'rabidrobot' in an attempt to never be told again my first pick was already in use, but also not have numbers or "_.-^frou-frou^-._" as it was called back then. Obviously it wasn't as clever and original as I'd hoped (HHGttG and Radiohead use phrase "paranoid android" and I was frustratingly scooped on myspace, gmail, and rabidrobot.com). But I grew fond of it, and other attempts, such as 'Hypknotic" over at dA have proven to be even worse handles (I'll say, "It's like 'hypnotic" with a 'K'. No, not at the end. A silent 'K' like in 'Knot'. Like tie your shoe. Oh what the hell, let me type.")
KiloKrash, I always read the first part with a long 'I' and thought, briefly, that it might be some surfer thing or something.

No. Unfortunatley, I'm from the same State that harbors Stardock, so basically, I'm the farthest thing from a surfer. Not as if I, a balance challenged, 6'1 200 pound pale white, eyeglass wearing, afraid of being shark meat Arse, would likely ever become a surfer even if I was from Hawaii...or Australia...or wherever the waves are. But I can dream right?

Cerebro = powerful super-computer from X-men.
All my email addresses are jdcerebro@whatever, and my original nick was jdcerebro, but then I changed it to CerebroJD, and its been that on every website I've registered at since.

Of course every variation of JESTER was already taken (too many old Top Gun fans, I suppose) so I stuck my initials, T and B on the ends.
I think it looks kind of silly now, but I'm too lazy to change it. And it's never taken on any site I register on.
