R.I.P. 2007 Suite Walkthrough

Make your desktop spooky!

Halloween is always a great time of the year for skinning as there is so many creative submissions that have to do with Halloween.  One of my favorite premium suites has been the R.I.P. suite that was available to WinCustomize subscribers.  It has been updated this year for both Vista and WindowBlinds 6, and includes a new wallpaper and weather gadget.

The suite includes:

  • WB6 Animated skin for Vista & XP
  • Icon Package for Vista & XP
  • Wallpaper in 3 Resolutions
  • Clock Gadget Calendar Gadget
  • Weather Gadget

*Note:  You must have the latest version of Theme Manager from Stardock Central to use this suite.

You can apply the suite by using Theme Manager, which allows you to select the different options for the suite, such as the wallpaper resolution.  Load the .suite file, click apply and select your options, then click "Yes" to apply the suite.

The WindowBlinds skin, which is compatible with Windows Vista and XP, has been updated with a ghoulish start menu animation.  I find myself hitting the start button just to see it when I'm working.

The icon set for IconPackager is a perfect match, and it has also been updated for Windows Vista.  There new wallpaper comes in 3 resolutions, and is worth the download just for that.  If you have Vista Ultimate, be sure to download the Rest in Peace .dream for DeskScapes.

Also included with the suite are some gadgets, which are mini-applications for your desktop.  There is an expandable calendar gadget, a clock gadget, and an expandable weather gadget, all which matches beautifully with the WindowBlinds skin.

You can get the R.I.P. 2007 suite by becoming a WinCustomize subscriber, or if you purchase any premium suite before October 31st, 2007, you will get it free!

I asked this in another thread but didn't get a reply...
What's the chance of getting the gadgets converted to Vista Sidebar gadgets on this and other releases in the future? It would be a bonus to have them resized to fit correctly also. I tried but can not find a way to do this like I can with other DesktopX Widgets.

In order to get and be able to use this theme, you must have "Object Desktop" (ODNT) and be a WinCustomize subscriber, MleCerise.

I'm sure my German is not as good as your Engish.

You need to communicate in "Austrian" in order to be properly understood, Doc.

Its not in your subscriber skin list? Go to the home page. Look up top to where your nic is. There's a little black arrow next to it. Click on it and a drop down box appears. In it click on subscriber skins. It should be listed there. And you probably know this better than I do. lol

Your wasting your time if your looking for this. I did this promotion and sometime early this year the skin was removed from my list of available themes and replaced with a very cheap knockoff created by Stardock Design. So in fact, I have been paying for this software and premium themes just to be scammed.  Custom service refuses to help me either. All attempts result in no reply. The company has taken a horrible dive in the last 2 years and now they don't care about the customers.

I have no idea to what you refer.  The RIP 2007 skin IS available to subscribers. [It is a Subscriber skin].

Stardock Design do NOT do 'cheap knockoffs' of anything.   They rank amongst the most talented skinners/artists in the field of skinning.
