Hey, this is pretty groovy. I somehow didn't see it until just now.

I was curious about the file size, but now know what's up with that. The vector art is great. I wonder if anything could be done to enhance the "velvet" effect?

As an object it is fun to explore, and you really covered everything.

All considered, with bonus for originality, 4 stars!

Thanks you. Yeah, I think the file size almost kept it from being approved. I tried all I could to bring the size down, but was not successfgul. If you have any, or anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Curious....this is for the more knowledgable...does the file size affect the performance overall of the PC or DesktopX?

I think it is a big size for a DesktopX object, which are meant to be lean and mean. And it would be a long download for those with slower connections. But I also think most computers these days can handle a big wav, which is what makes up most of the size. It's actually just a medium sized wav file played by probably the simplest means possible. So, aside from perhaps taking up more memory than it is worth, I doubt it would negatively affect performance. Never know, though.

Did you look into reducing the quality of the wav to reduce file size? There are some good editors out there, I like a free one called Audacity. By lowering the bit rate you can sometimes get a much smaller file without a lot of quality loss. Other times though, the quality degradation is too much. And, for the longer samples, mp3 would make for smaller files, but then we get into even stickier copyright issues...

Audacity is what I used. Great software.

I tried MP3 format, but for some reason they wouldn't play?!?!?! Dunno why.

Quality loss was also a problem when I tried to lower the bit rate. Also tried db power amp and my winmedia converter. Audacity came out the best.

I tried 'enhancing' the velvet feel. Hard to do. Adding noise was what worked for me. After that, other things seemd to get away from what I wanted. I kept messing with noise and plastic, but kept looking 'glossy'.
