Few questions: Why not have the font packaged in the widget?
Does it so anything "interesting" on the day of?

I assumed it was. Then I saw some other peoples screenshots that had the widget and saw it wasn't, so I added it to the zip.

I can't script but it seems logical you could have an 'on timer' or whatever it's called to execute when it time to change the stump to the burning one (or even an animated)

I will see what I can do. What I need to find is a timer that does do soething when it counts down, so I can see what the script looks like to begin with.

See if you can catch up with RomanDA . His holiday countdown goes from something like "It'll be X in N days" to "Today is X" on that day.
