You have DX4? You may not have the DX plugin for that. DX4 is missing a lot of plugins.
Otherwise, exit DX, delete the widget cache in C:\Users\nimbin\AppData\Local\Stardock\DesktopX, and try again.
Is it the widget or the gadget? Or both?
