Dynamic Dreams: Changing the Settings

Wednesday, November 9, 2011 by Island Dog | Discussion: OS Customization

I’m sure you saw the news of DeskScapes 3.5 and the four new Dynamic animated wallpapers that were released not too long ago.  These four .dreams are pretty awesome, and they have been very popular since release.  However, I wanted to point out that these .dreams have settings that let you adjust various parts of the .dreams for some customization of how they look.

For instance, for the Moving Wallpaper .dream just click the Dynamic Dream Setting tab in DeskScapes and you have a small window come up with several options for this .dream.  Moving Wallpapers is a .dream that takes your wallpapers and applies cool zoom and pan effects on your desktop.  In the settings you can change the speed of the picture change, load different images per monitor, control pan/zoom settings, and add/remove directories for the pictures.

Other .dreams like Colored Lights has similar settings.  For these .dreams you can prevent certain colors from appearing, change the speed of the effects, and control content on all your monitors.

You can find these new premium .dreams in the WinCustomize gallery, and make sure you grab a copy of DeskScapes!

Have purchased Deskscapes Windows 7 latest version works like a dream, however some older dreams plus Nocturnal by Amitsaran look fine on 'Deskscapes' but somewhere in the transfer of data to my desktop becomes a black screen, any other  dreams I try then to select over it also do not appear. They only appear after I have reverted back to a Windows 7 theme. Another one of my old favourites is DEEP OCEAN by inspiredORANGE - with this dream same problem used to play on Vista not Windows 7, BARS by CarGuy1, Ball Impact Row by inspiredORANGE - Roland, Cloud Surfing CarGuy1, Golden Bay CarGuy1, Warp by Mike "TheNGTV"t., and one of my old favourites Stormy by CarGuy1. Also tried downloading more recent file from site, when applied same result with monitor.  Do they need updating on their coding? Or is there a setting that needs to be changed when applying these particular dreams?

Kindest Regards

If you are now on a 64 bit install then it may be your 64 codecs are broken as the preview would use the 32 bit ones. Did you install any codec packs? If this is win 7 business it may lack codecs.

Many Thanks Neil for your reply, currently using Window 7 Ultimate, will see why all others play normally with exception of above mentioned dreams, love your work using your Winter Snow dream with choice of wallpaper.
