Using Stardock's Fences and Start10 Together
Wednesday, September 13, 2017 by Island Dog | Discussion: Personal Computing
Fences and Start10 are two popular apps from Stardock. Fences is an app that lets you organize your desktop icons into customizable fences. Start10 is an alternative Start menu for Windows 10 that brings additional options over the default Start menu. Both of these are also included with an Object Desktop membership.
One of the great things about having both these apps is they work wonderfully together and Start10 has an integrated feature with Fences which allows you to show your fences in the Start menu.
There’s really no setup involved, you just need to make sure in Start10 you are using either the Windows 7 Style or Modern Style Start menu configuration.
I have several fences on my desktop including folder portals, and with the Start10 integration I can now have quick access to them via my Start menu.
As you can see in the screenshot below, my ‘Desktop Stuff’ fence also shows up in my Start menu.

We'll look into the alert, but WinCustomize has had ads for quite a while if you are not a subscriber.

There is one configuration issue that does have to be addressed: Under Appearance, uncheck: “All programs tree should use large icons”. From the screen shot, it doesn’t have large icons but it isn’t obvious from the screenshot or text that you have to uncheck large icons to make it so.

I'm using the "Modern Style" option for Start 10 but none of my Fences are showing up. They still remain missing if I switch to Windows 7 style as well. Any ideas on how to fix this?
EDIT:
Never mind, a system restart seems to have fixed things.

Chrome is showing an alert icon in the address bar: "This page is trying to load scripts from unauthenticated sources."
Now that I look around, I see this alert on other WC pages! What's this all about? Could this alert be triggered by the ads you now show?
