Community Covid-19 Check-in Post!
Monday, March 23, 2020 by Island Dog | Discussion: Everything Else
This is certainly an interesting time right now. I know many of us around the world are social distancing, self-quarantining, or whatever phrase you are using for it.
So let's take a moment and check-in here and let the community know how you're doing during all this.

Looks like fatalities might be higher than initially reported in the UK. We're expecting a spike in reports soon

Not normally an advocate of violence, but seriously something has to be done to make these people do the right thing.
I think you're right about martial law. This thing is dangerous enough that people must be made to comply. I should think that a strong showing of police and armed servicemen would do the trick.

Hi everyone! Hope you are all OK. I have been stuck in the house with my two boys (15 and 10) for 2 weeks now. I am really worried about catching this thing as I have lots of health issues these days, and I'm pretty sure I won't survive it if it gets me. I have some friends and family to get things for me, but I doubt there will be anything to buy when they go.
Had to live without internet for 3 days when the modem broke down, (good timing modem!!) but all is fixed now.
Might have to start skinning again if the boredom gets any worse, maybe some new cursors for the new CursorFX? We'll see......
Take care everyone, stay safe.

My town first closed bars, restaurants, and churches, but explicitly excluded casinos and brothels (now they are closed)

We are good in Florida. no symptoms. Me and my husband are both under 65 and healthy (knock on wood), We have no $$ issues so far, pantry stocked. Our trip to Alaska is put on hold, we cancelled our yearly BBQ and Jim is a World wide wrestling fan, his outing in Tampa was cancelled. all restaurants and bars are closed but most have take out or curbside service. Liqueur stores and grocery stores still open. We gather at friends homes and have meetings on Zoom. Together and united we do pretty good!
Be good to each other!!

The trip to Alaska doesn't bother me at all, unless it's a cruise ship--it's the trip back to Florida again that's the problem.

I have mixed feelings about going back to work tomorrow (in a nursing home), but so far so good. None of my patients or collegues are sick or showing symptomes from the Covid-19 virus (yet), so fingers crossed we can keep it that way as long as possible.

Four things I would say.
Nitrous Oxide - Eat plenty of green leafy vegetables.
Magnesium - Foods sources (I like Dark Chocolate also found in the above) and supplement.
Vitamin D. Sardines and salmon are good sources. Taking this as pharmacy will use magnesium so you need some extra.
Healthy omega 3 food sources.
The above will relax blood vessels and oxygenate the blood protecting the brain and heart.

What needs to happen is for martial law to be declared so that authorities can shoot some of these effers.
Maybe where you live but not here in the US. Next thing you know "He" is saying that the presidential election in November is called off and "He" seizes power and becomes dictator.

nah.. chances are they'll shoot the police up instead. people are hoarding guns over there instead of food or toilet roll

I had a Covid thread open earlier, and I had asked if that was okay, but the thread got all but closed and removed before I even got an answer, for the reason that political discussion was not allowed. Now we've got another Covid thread left open, and personally I would think that is political, but you know...two people 4 days ago straight up called for martial law, and for some reason that was allowed, so....
No, no martial law. It used to be that veterans fought and died so the world would be free and to STOP fascism, but now...that was all for nothing(??). I guess when there are people out there to shoot at, it's "Give me liberty or give me death." But a little bitty virus comes along, and suddenly everybody is off to cower in their homes, begging for martial law to come.

It was not 'all but closed', it was relocated as is policy.
Likewise I noticed the comment here.... and considering it's title [Community check-in] decided to leave it where it is, provided nothing further can be construed as 'Political'.
References to 'martial law' is social, not political, distinguishing between Dem and Rep is. [for example]....

Day:Tuesday 31st March 2020.
I'm okay at the moment.
Live in a small community on the NSW-Victorian border (Australia).Have discided to take time off work and self isolate, due to my age(65).
No reported cases in my town. Some reported in the nearby area of Albury/Wodonga.No deaths yet.
Still feeling anxious about the whole situation.Worried about the calm before the storm.
Hope I'm over reacting and things calm down and flatten out.Stay busy or chill out with a movie or book.Take care, stay safe.
