Another one, Wow! I wish everyone put chimes in their Beatnik's.

Is this a Beatnik Skin or a sound pack? I put it both places and can not open it. I put one in the folder sound pack and one in Beatnik2 folder. What am I doing wrong?

It is a SoundPack. Unzip the download in some external folder. You will then see the actual SoundPack file: "westminsterchimesjusletgoclock.bnSnd"
Paste a copy of this .bnSnd file into the parent BeatNik folder at:
C:\Program Files\BeatNik2, NOT into the subfolder CurSoundPak. Close and reopen BeatNik. Right mouse click on the current skin, select Preferences => Chimes-Alarms Tab => Open SoundPack. Browse to the new SoundPack you just pasted, select it, click Open, wait for it to load, then click the "Use SoundPack" radio button. In the "Chimes" field, click the "Quarterly" radio button. Click OK, and you're in business k? Sorry you had problems. ( There are complete instruction sets for this in my skin package if you wish to download that. Please note that you have to be running at least BeatNik 2.0 to utilize the SoundPack.

I had the same problem as CitizenDarco, then I followed your instructions and the chimes are working just fine.

Good to hear the instructions were clear enough to follow, and better that they worked! *chuckling* I recognize now, the load problem will arise with those who have previous experience with earlier versions of BeatNik. In earlier versions, raw source files were just zipped, with the .zip extension. The app then automatically opened the downloaded .zip file and extracted the raw files, be they skin files or wave files. If raw target files are simply zipped, with a .zip extension, for backward compatibility, 2.0 still works this way. With 2.0, however, the BeatNik author migrated to changing the .zip extension on the raw zipped target file packages respectively to .bnSkin for the skin files, and .bnSnd for the wave files. This helps to differentiate skin sets from the new soundpack sets. Since most puters like .zip files, and some get crazy when they see some new unknown file extension, for download purposes, I make a point of zipping the .bnSkin and .bnSnd packages. Unfortunately, BeatNik does not yet know how to penetrate what is essentially two zipped layers to get to the raw target files. Hence the load probs. In cases where a complete packaged skin includes both .ttf font files, and a .bnSnd soundpack, both fonts and soundpack can, and are, embedded in the single .bnSkin wrapper. I know all this may sound frightfully complicated, but I have tried to explain just how it all now works, so that a routine download won't turn into a bout of agonizing frustration. Hope this helps to clear the air. Again ---- please ---- Enjoy! But UNZIP MANUALLY FIRST!
