Let me guess...you made radio active and this skin using the background from PowerPoint?

In my opinion, you should choose a different color to go with yellow...and black isn't it, its just a personal opinion.

goodjob

and btw...could you make your file a little smaller...I think more people whould download your bootskin if it was smaller, maybe 30 kb, 1/1000 of 3 mb sounds pretty good.

I will try to get the file size smaller. No problem there. The background was made custom as well as the art. 100% Photoshop. All you have to do is make a gradient, add some noise and a motion blur and you have a "brushed metal" look. The atomic symbol is three elipses created in PS, and then rotated. the center dot is obvious, and then I used my blending options set to lighten. After that, add a bevel down at about 10/5, and depth of 150. Then I flattened to .jpg, export to a .bmp at 640X480, and decrease the res in PSP8 to 16 bit. Resaved in the skins folder under the intended named folder of the skin. Finally, reduced the original image down to 22X9 px in PSP8, so I have the same color pallette. use that color scheme to make a custom progress bar. After that, finish with an altered bootskin file, and export in Bootskin. Pretty simple process for this one. Anyway, no stock images were hamed in the making of any of my work. Ho

could of sworn it looks like a background made using MS PowerPoint...lol, still think yellow goes bad with black in this particular bootskin

I'm just a weekend skin maker, never spent too much time on my skins, once in a while I use photo-editing softwares, but normally, I just use MS Paint..ez to work with and its simple.
The thing I always run into is the colors, when ever I make a fancy bootskin with Photoshop, make it into a skin, it goes fine, but when I add my own progress bar, the picture goes all wrong. So, i'm forced to use other skin's progress bar...not that big of deal since most of them are the samething lol

yeah...smaller size would definitly better.

If you are having problems with your progress bar, try this tip. Take your image (@640x480), and reduce the color depth to 16 colors. Resize it to 22x9px and resave your image as something like progress.bmp. Now you will have a progress bar sized image that uses the same color pallette as your bootskin. This way your progress bar won't color-conflict with your main image. That should solve most of your problems. Be advised that Photoshop will not decrease colors to 4 bit. (There is also a utility in skin studio to do this, but the options in PSP are a bit better.)

Peace

even if your progress bar is in 16 color, if it has a different color pallette than your base image, you will have color conflict problems. generating your progress bar image from your base image to make sure you have the same color pallette.
