I am releasing a Professional Version today. Look for it in the next few days |
You should fix this one first, it does not install, it can't be changed to a .zip to extract folder.

Ok. How do you save your bootscreen image as a .bootskin file? |
There are two ways to do that:
a. Make the skin into your C:/Program Files/Stardock/Wincustomize/Bootskin/Skins/"My Skin" (The name of your skin) and then after you run Bootskin select from File>Export Selected Skin to File... This is the proper way to do it and the one i use for optimal performance.
b.The improper way is to save the files you were working on as one .zip file (these are the two bitmaps - one for the boot and one for the progress bar - and the bootskin.ini). Then rename file and change extension to .bootskin. Although this works fine most times it ain't advisable to do it due to the fact that you may end up with a crc error (Cyclic Redundancy Error).
Hope this helps.

1 problem with the proper way. My bootscreen won't show up in BootSkin. Why? |
This is because the is an error. If screen image is not 640x480, if images are not 16 color 4 bit bitmap, if name of images in .ini are not the same as the image name, these are the main errors that will not show the bootskin in list when open bootskin. Go to skins folder, C:\Program Files\Stardock\WinCustomize\BootSkin\skins, look at some you have downloaded as see how they are done.
