I like it, but it should say "federal and STATE criminal." Civil is the opposite of criminal, so it would not be a civil criminal prosecution.

I work in law, and as jdlawhorne stated above, the two divisions of law are civil and criminal and are quite opposite. If I were you I would reword that sentence to something similar to the following: Unauthorized attempts to modify any information stored on this system, to defeat or circumvent security features, or to utilize this system for other than its intended purposes are prohibited by federal law and may result in criminal prosecution.
