The colors on this bootskin turned out well, nice image - job well done. |
Thank you very much!
Did you test the first bootskin before submitting to this site, it goes without saying (but I'm verbose so I'll say it anyways) that you should test out the bootskin on your system by going through a few reboots before exporting the bootskin to bootskin file and uploading to the site. |
Yes I did, which is what threw me off for a second. When BootSkin Buddy does the export of the skin, it gives a .bootskin file, a .BMP of the bootskin, and the .ini. I was under the impression that I had to archive all three of those files into one, and rename the .zip to .bootskin. This, as you can imagine, caused an issue with the installation of my first BootSkin, Glint.
So in correcting the issue, I set out to design and distribute my second BootSkin.
Again, nice job on this bootskin. |
Thank you, I appreciate your feedback and encouragement!

cool and weird boot skin |
Thank you, I think!
PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME, this program seems very cool and there's a lot of cool bootskins to download, like this one... |
I'm sorry that you're having problems with Stardock's Bootskin application. The only thing that I've found that comes close to the problems that you appear to be having is that there are some incompatibility issue's with some PC's and their OS's, and unfortunately there's no known fix for it yet.
What you may have to do is start your computer in SAFE MODE, go to Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs and remove Bootskin, but make sure you replace the default bootskin before total removing it from your system.
Try Bootskin on another PC and see if the problem follows the program or the PC, and you can start troubleshooting the issue from there once you have an idea where and what's causing the problem.
Hope that helps, and best of luck to you!
