I released the exact same bootskin in green (my preference actually) first and then I released the blue one above and this blue version has rec'd 3 times as many downloads. Me thinks blue is very popular as far as bootskins go?!
Thanks again to everyone who downloaded this and any other of my bootskins, I truly appreciate it, it makes the work worthwhile!

SHHhhhhhh......
You've learned an ancient secret great wise one.
You have just moved up another level in greatness.
Yes. It is a fact that downloaders always prefer blue.
That's why I've done a few in blue.
Like Windows 3D:
The Blue Cube:
The Dragon's Domain:
and Alien Stonehenge:
All of these were originally a different color, but making them blue increased their downloads by 2 fold.
I'll have a couple of new ones coming out in about a week and a half. "Lil' Devil", which is the original, all in red, and a Blue version that I did, just because I know that Blue "sells" in a manner of speaking.
So yes, Uncle Rob, Blue IS the most popular color.

Your windows 3d bootskin has an awesome progress bar, no one else has duplicated it to date on this site, one day I'll try something similar in a future bootskin.
I always wanted to know if blue bootskins performed better, now I know the "truth" (or secret as it were)
Thanks for providing an answer to my question. I wonder if people actually read my comments, now I know that some people actually do! Hopefully I don't get stuck in a rut and release all of my future work in blue!

My stuff really isn't anything special. I just take things from the net and convert 'em. But it IS great fun! Kinda like a hobby would be. I would do more if I had time, but that's always a problem.
As for the comments, I think most people do read these comments just out of curiosity, and also to make sure a BootSkin might be worth downloading judging from others' comments.
I saw a non-appealing, kind of crappy BootSkin last year, that only had 8, maybe 10 downloads on it. Then someone left a comment saying, "Why is it that I can't get your BootSkin to work? Everytime I try, I keep getting a "Password" prompt!" That comment was posted around mid-morning to near noon. Later that evening I noticed it had jumped from around 10 Downloads to around 2,000. Just to see for themselves if THEY, the Downloaders, would also get the Password Prompt. So my guess is that they probably do read these comments. They just suffer from the 'ole LFS or Lazy Fingers Syndrome.
