Widescreen monitors stretch bootskins.
So I compressed the image size from 640 * 480 (4:3) to the proper image ratio in Photoshop (16:9) or whatever. So it was a squished image. Added white to each side. On a widescreen monitor, it should display the logo at the right aspect ratio now.

I was under the impression that bootskins were limited to 640x480 resolution only.
