Heck, I just grabbed this off of the net from a regular site that had different images and things with numbers and letters for the image's name(s), but I checked out 5X and there's some AWESOME wallpapers there. I wonder if he or they would give permission on any of the images to be converted into BootSkins with full credit of course going back to that awesome site?
I'm gonna have to contact 'em.

I'd make a bet that alot of the recent submissions from other bootskin authors on this site weren't original artwork by the author. Example: the mortal combat logo isn't original, I don't see permission to use that artwork either. Wonder why you got tagged today?
Yrgal, If we're going to enforce the permission rule, so be it - I'm cool with that (a few of the bootskins that I've released with skinhit's wallpapers were done with his permission and I enclosed his permission in a txt file along with my bootskin so there was no questioning that it wasn't my artwork in the bootskin) but you can't be selective in who has to get permission and who doesn't. The rule has to apply to everyone - otherwise is just an exercise in discrimination. I'm not trying to start an argument but I want to be clear on this issue and how it should work.

No matter what happens as for as the BootSkin is concerned, you know, whether it stays are goes, it doesn't matter to me just 'cause you guys are the greatest with your positive support!�

The BootSkin that I have up now is no longer taken from 5X's image.
This was the BootSkin taken from 5X's image:
This new image was created completely from scratch by me using ULead.
If anyone wants to use my image for anything they want, feel free to do so, without any referencing or referring back to me. I'm sorry though that the resolution is only at 640X480. I had created it specifically at the time to be used as a BootSkin.
Here is an image of my Version if you wish to Save it to your Hard Drive for your own personal use. This one's in Ping Format. If you'd like the BMP version, just E-Mail me.

you apparently are a magician, the flames alone look like they could eat up all 16 colors, where you also found room for several shades of the 4 windows flag colors is a mystery to me. How did you keep the colors so true? Do you use ulead to render down to 16 colors? If so I definitely have to try it out - I have no way of touching this level of color sophistication in a 16 color palette - WOW! ��

I can't find them anymore? I hope you didn't yank them all from the site just because of what that guy said about flooding the section - he didn't have a clue as to what he was talking about.
BTW, this bootskin that you "created" is really quite excellent,
not bad for someone who claims they are not very "creative" ��

from the looks of things today (2-21-07), you're looking to repeat your top spot, we have a few hours left and you're only a few downloads behind the #1 bootskin today.

You gotta love it when the download action is really good.
I'm about 20 grand short of the #10 spot in the bootskin hall of fame, I'm hoping to be #10 in a few months, after that I think I'll slow down the bootskin creation/updating at my end. My goal was to make top 10 when I started creating bootskins last august 06 - if I do that within my first year, I'll be very satisfied with the results and I can consider myself a top 10 hall of famer - yes I sound like a bit of loonie sometimes but goals are what keep me focused (I'm sure you've read a few of my rants - my verbosity has no known limits!)
My luck will be as soon as I hit that mark, some young hotshot (not mentioning any names JOHNNY) will slide into #9 or #8 - bugger!!!

I keep my goals comparable to my talents. That's why Top 5 for the Month does me just fine. It'd take me forever to get into the 10 Spot. I probably won't even be around much longer anyway. I just wanted to get out some of John Schwegel's Artwork, get into the Top 5 for a month, and slip away again for another half year or so. My brother's been driving me nuts about us working together on making a Video Game, so eventually I'll pursue that.
No matter what though, I know Hog will keep pumpin' out Master Skins, and you'll eventually become a Mod, so I feel safe knowing the balance of the world will stay in tact��
