1. use alpha blended png files instead of magic pink... magic pink is best to aviod whenever possible
2. Make the hour glass triangles the same size... its lopsided
3. Perhaps bevel the edges to give it some depth...
a good start though...

To be honest, I do like it. The color scheme is perfect with my red and blue desktop theme.
