Holy cr**! That is really quite good, I'd love to see some other game cursors - perhaps a Halo cursor?

I'm going to play the American Idol role of Simon here:
Although the theme is good, I'm goig to slap down some crits and comments that you can use to bring this theme to the next level or dismiss and let your work continue to be just under a 10.
There is one effect in this theme that is overused in all novice work on this site and that would be emboss. It's so solidly aparent on the yellow cross I almost yaked (tossed my cookies/vomitted). You can see it also on the Hookshot, Shield, and slightly on the gauntlet. It gives the icons (yellow cross and hookshot more then the others) an over-glossy look that doesn't fit the style of the remainder of the theme.
Next would be to add some shading to that Triforce. It's way to flat looking in comparison to the rest of the theme.
I REALLY enjoy what you've done with the master sword and if the rest of the theme was of that quality it'd be perfect.
The shield does it's job, but doesn't look enough like the real shield used in the game to convince me that you were concerned with it. http://www.afn.org/~afn05232/title3.jpg
That picture is what you should work from. Get that point at the top and the triforce in the middle of the sheild at least. And you could just can the red circle-line Icon; it isn't necessary.
To enhance this theme I would add some animations; the triforce spinning, maybe the potion being spilled, or even add a set of 3 hearts to the set that will be cut down to a half a heart for a busy animation. Also, some sounds added to the package that could be used would also take this theme to a solid 12.

and the sheild looks just fine. its an old school zelda sheil not any of the this newer stuff. The best zelda is link to the pas: the one on super nintendo. maybe you could pop open a little emulator and grab some shots of the "best" sheild in action fending off the evils of hyrule

You rock Travis. I agree. "A Link to the Past" is the best Zelda game. Me and my friend beat it 3 times. I don't recognize the shield though.
