I can't get this to work. Whenever I try to load it it freezes my Cursor XP.

AAAAARRRGGGGHHHH!!! Same problem here! I've unpacked the zip. All cursors are 2048x2048x32. You need about 450 MB RAM only to hold the images!

I've got to go ask at my store for a new AMD Opteron 64bit and some Terabytes of RAM.

Yeah. Almost all cursor pictures is 2048x2048, hence the vast amount of memory needed. Sorry, guys.

Shamless plug... Don't forget, ppl, that a similar effect can be achieved using DesktopX objects with much less RAM and CPU. I had an object but took it down due to low popularity.

Hey, maybe one suggestion to help with RAM would be to cut the cursor into quarter the size by only having the left and up lines. They could still be used to align with rulers visible on the top of a page and the left of a page... Well, otherwise, cheers to all those with bundles of memory.

I have an Athlon XP 2000 1.67 GHZ with 512 MB DDR. Is that enough?

Hmm You can open a cursorxp configuration window, change to this cursor scheme, if it's too much, change back.

Yes. That is exactly why there is Crosscursor and LongerCrossCursor.

I guess I can make a small version of this one.

I don't like getting zips with just a bunch of .png's in them. I can do that myself. Put in the CursorXP file so all you have to do is load it up. Also, png's can sometimes be bigger that bmp files.

I uploaded it as a cursorxp scheme file. You must have renamed it into zip file, or your browser did.

I have no problem with the amount of RAM this eats, I love this Cursor and have worked hard to make it work for me. I would like to know how to get the X bar all the way across my 1280 x 1024 screen though. It's bugging me out when I move to the far left or right and I see the end of the bar. Anyway I can mix LongerCrossCursor with CrossCursorXY?

No the only way is to make a bigger version of XY but it's almost at the limit at my computer, if I make picture any bigger it crashes the program.

I have a suggestion, as I use Microstation and Autocad both, sometimes I use a large plus for a crosshair. it doesn't cover the whole screen, only takes up about 3" x 3" on your screen. Think you could make a crosscursorplus?

General movement is between 4% and 25% CPU with Pentium Four 2.60 GHz. Menu and program selection has run as high as 69%

You probably need more RAM.

Oops the comment order has been flipped down now. Yeah having a huge cursors will do that to you. This cursor set sure pushes cursorxp's limits.

Try turning off your shadow if you haven't already it helps quite a bit. On my FX-53 I'm at about 15% max CPU with a gig of ram and shadow off
