Looks like Judge's object. Check the script of that object and translation should be easy.

look like judge's object... but the script is based on _Martin_'s international weather object!
i just wanted to have a *working* object (=-Martin_) with a look and feel that i like (=Judge)

ok, for those of you who are still trying to find the city/country code, go to http://www.weather.com , click on the "world" tab at the top, then enter your city and country as asked in the box. Hit return, and in the querystring (URL) look for the section similar to the one for dusseldorf, should be right in the beginning. Copy just that and paste it into the input box for the object and all should be fine!

Nice work jotwee!

Cheers

btw, this is the URL/ querystring I was talking about:

http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/local/UKXX1314?lswe=Southend-On-Sea,%20United%20Kingdom&lswa=WeatherLocalUndeclared&y=16&x=11

where the bold text is the part you need!

SAS6:

replace line 238 with this:
http.Open "GET", "http://xoap.weather.com/weather/local/" & zipcode & "?cc=*&dayf=5&ut=F&unit=mi&rand=" & Rnd, False

Dragonfire: when I looked at the script that is in fact what it said. What am I doing wrong - I really like this but I am totally ignorant in converting C to F

They're small changes, I highlighted them this time. If yours does in fact look like mine then I don't have a clue whats wrong.

Original:
http.Open "GET", "http://xoap.weather.com/weather/local/" & zipcode & "?cc=*&dayf=5&ut=C&unit=m&rand=" & Rnd, False

Mine:
http.Open "GET", "http://xoap.weather.com/weather/local/" & zipcode & "?cc=*&dayf=5&ut=F&unit=mi&rand=" & Rnd, False

Great - that worked! How do you make the change permanent - there is no save button on the script editor

SAS6

when you close the script editor, it saves it automatically. Or at least it seems to for me.

When you click the apply button in the main DX2 properties box, it should be permanent.

Zimbo123

What do you mean "bonkers"?

I love this object. But I'm new to scripting DX.
I'm running this on my laptop which isn't always online so is there anyway to change this object so it only updates if the internet is available? Thus keeping the last settings and not throwing a script error?

Great stuff
However, I have a prob though I wanted m/s for the windspeed (instead of km/h).
I thought I solved it with editning line 70: DesktopX.Object("cc_scroll").Text = "Wind speed: " & round(Object.PersistStorage("wind_s")*1000/3600,0)) & " m/s"
This works, until the windspeed is zero (0), then I got an error.
I don't know so much in Visual Basic, any suggestions?
Greatings from Stocholm, Seden!!

To get your zipcode go to http://weather.com and enter your city in the searchbar click the correct result and check the URL.
