I'm confused. Isn't this the same weather app that comes w/DesktopX and is called Weather Reporter? Based ont he screenshot this is the same one I use on my desktop and LOVE it. Unlike the other weather apps this one can show the full 5 day forecast(more) or minimize nice and small w/a great graphic to show me the current weather and temp. it's not bulky and gives me all of the info i need.

btw, i'm not very good at editing the scripts. since i know where i live the city/state isn't very useful for me. i'd prefer to remove the city/state(location) name entirely or at least remove the state/country. is there an easy way to edit the script to remove that?

Jim: Well, yes to a degree this is the object that comes with DesktopX. However, rather than packaging all the images within the object they are downloaded from the Internet. The thinking is that you must be online in order to download weather information, and therefore it makes sense to download the pictures from there as well to keep the object size much reduced.
Also, just open the properties of the city name and on the Relation tab set visible to "No".

Stephen: Wierd that that is a problem. Are you definitely online? I'm going to try a final clearing out out default images and reupload the weather object if you can give it another go.

Norton antivirus freaks out when I try to run this and it says to end the script immediately and then DesktopX crashes. I'm running Xp home with SP-2. You might want to check that out.

Martin,

I wondered if you could help. I have just downloaded a desktop theme called "Dark Professional" created by gef. He uses one of your weather forecast scripts. The issue I have is that if I attempt to change the location by clicking on the current location to my local area it reverts back to the default option which happens to be "York, United Kingdom". Can you tell me how I get it to change the location please.

Many thanks.
