Yeah! Just yesterday, I browsed wincustomize for a small, working animated weather object, but could not find one that I liked.
Now you made the right thing just in time! Thanks

Does this work in the UK? It asks for a zip code, but we don't have zip codes!

Help

It plays the ani for approx 15 seconds before it locks me up, but seeing that ani for 15 seconds is wild! hehe
Martin what do you think it is? I shut down my two widgets you made so that they would not interfere w/ this object but still it wont work. it works for a few seconds and then completely freezes up my machine and I have to do a hard boot.

Tarinuk try typing the city first then a coma followed by a space and your country...

yikes... same problem here I have with the animated weather widget ... uses up all my resources and locks my pc .... yet other stuff recently released, like the 80's game widget works fine .... hope these problems can be fixed .....

osopolar: i had the same problem but updated to the latest beta fixed the issue.

martin: i love this animated weather but i noticed that there are no night time images like your other weather objects. in your older weather objects i get a moon or a moon w/clouds, rain, etc at night. is this b/c there are no night time icons int he package or b/c of the weather site you're pulling the data from? if you can add the night time graphics that would be great. i gotten used to seeing the moon graphics at night rather than a sun.

Excellent! I got your animated widget working by completely removing the static one off my system (which I hated to do cuz I like the nightime images you had on that, however I wanted the animation better) can you add the nightime images to both your ani weather dx and widget objects?

I installed the widget into a diff directory rather than default since it may have been going into the other unzipped widget folder not sure, then rebooted my machine turned off DX and then relaunched the widget by itself and it seems to have no conflict and run perfectly (though I can only run one instance rather than two of this animated widget which I used to have two occurances running of your static one, so that I can have weather on two diff locations on my desktop)

Outstanding work Martin "Thank you!"

yeah. Miss Mannlister, i updated just now and the ram issue seems fixed ... must have been quite a change in 2.19k to 2,19m ...

must admit though, i'm checking out other apps since this ... don't like things messing about my pc like that ... avedesk seems quite good, lacks the complication of dx, and .. its free !!

osopolar: i like avedesk as well! only problem is tha it seems very flakey, it crashes as i'm config'ing it a lot. also, there aren't very many widgets for it so it's very limited as opposed to DX which has a ton of nice objects.

yeah ur right in some ways. Miss Mannlister ... although Avedesk is just growing now, compared to how long dx has existed .. what i like about avedesk is 1.01mb ram usage or less, and for now, has never crashed once on me or messed up my pc like dx2 has done by way of lock ups, etc ....

Fixed problem with the "Sunny" state which doesn't actually animate. Missed it due to the fact that I'm in the UK and this state doesn't occur!

If you guys don't tell him what the problem is you'll never get the object working right and his objects and widgets are out of this world!
Doreen is a happy camper...
"Thank you Martin" they prob had conflict w/ this object and prior weather objects they had on their machines as was the case for me.
