Thanks very much for your kind words! I'm glad you like it.

If there's any feature that someone would really like to see in LookingGlass (other than non-US satellite and radar... that's been discussed to death) then they should speak up now, as the release will be injust a few days.

Well...since you asked.

Would you please consider including an additional frame style other than the sharp-cornered rectangle? An aero or aqua smooth-cornered offering or an alienware or killer/g2 inspired frame would be very nice.

If you don't want to do that, would you consider including a readme file that discussed the essential elements of creating a different frame for the object? My first attempt at revamping the frame somehow disabled the shrink/grow feature of the frame. I can only assume PEBKAC. Thanks.

There's a new version available!

I didn't change the frame, but I've simplified the structure a lot to make it easier for users to replace the frame themselves. It now does a dynamic resize, which wastes a little CPU, but you won't have to pre-render the animation anymore. Just plug in an appropriately sized frame, replace the resize button, and you're done.

By the way, you'd be surprised how much just assigning a background image makes it blend in with other skins. I sometimes run the GT2 Windowblinds skin, and if I just drop a GT2 "glass" image file onto LookingGlass, it looks like it was made for GT2.

Will, this is so cool! A few days ago, I was wondering if any weather objects have a severe weather alert feature and I log on today and see this has been updated with it as one of the new features. Thanks!

This is great but every few seconds I can see my screen update. I slight flicker. Any ideas why it would do this?
Thanks...Steve

Dan: Thanks, I'm glad you like it!

Stephen: What exactly flickers? Your whole screen?

It is like a very fast screen update. The whole screen does it. When I take the suite off it does not do it any more.
It is like a video refresh.
Not sure if that helps or not. Maybe when the graphics update my screen is seeing this.
Thanks...Steve

Here is a note. I just put your forecaster on and it does not make the flicker. Must have something to do with the radar.

Thanks for a very nice weather object.

I'm glad you like it. The Sat/Radar is just an activeX control, so if the entire screen is flashing, it's probably a video-driver issue.

Outstanding utility! I do have one question though:
I would like to have the weather pop up to the right of the minimized image instead of the left when it is restored. What do I need to change to do that?

Updated again, Friday 8-Oct-2004, with some bug fixes and Southern Hemisphere compatibility! If you recently downloaded, please upgrade to this version.

The bug fixes seem to have broken the minimize button on my system...

arrgh! Sorry about that. There's nothing wrong with the button. There's an almost-invisible tooltip that has moved between you and the button, preventing you from clicking the button. Hover your mouse over the end of the week so the tooltip pops up there, and you'll be able to click the button again. I will upload a patch for this in a few minutes.

OK, it should be fixed. A ZIPfile has been uploaded.

Is there a widget version of this available? When I try to export as a widget, it doesn't work. The radar screen won't come up and it won't let me change the city. If you know where I could get a working widget version, or how to properly convert this then thanks.
