In any case, I'm glad you like it.

First off, the real moon doesn't spin. I don't care how neat it is to see it spin, it's unnatural.
Secondly, I use the F10 key to hide it and your Sat & Radar object. After a few minutes of being hidden the Sun or Moon part appears on the screen and stays there.

Feel free, instead of criticizing, to use the UltraLite version, available at https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=3&SkinID=3588 which features a non-rotating moon.
If you don't care how neat it looks, I guess you shouldn't use it. As for your F10 issue, by invoking that feature it's the responsibility of DesktopX to inhibit screen updates of an object while it is "hidden". Sounds like you've found a bug in DX you should talk to Stardock about.

Yes, you are correct the moon does spin but from the perpective of an earthling, the same side always faces the earth. This is what makes your display seem unnatural.
Here is another observation: I hide this object during the day. At 11:00 pm I observe the unhidden moon spinning and I use F10 to unhide the rest of the object. Now the sun is showing on your object and it stays that way for more than five minutes.
I would think that since you're more familiar with the techical construction of your object, you would be the one to report the hide bug...
Your semi-nasty reply to my comments makes me regret that I assisted you with the sat&radar not saving the localization settings. http://wincustomize.com/window.asp?Cmd=COMMENTS&Lib=34&SkinID=60

On the sat&radar, you reported a bug (which wasn't even a problem with my code but rather the result of an undocumented change in a new DX version), and I'm the one who responded and fixed it. You're right, you deserve all the credit. You act as if the fix was for my benefit... It was for yours. You had a problem and were willing to follow up on troubleshooting, so I wanted to help you. That's why it got fixed.
I can't report the F10 bug, as I've never seen it and have no data on it. Stardock has the code for my object, but I don't doubt they will realize that the issue is in DX. It sounds like DX can have issues with objects that try to change their visibility when F10-hidden. It wouldn't surprise me if some mail-notifiers behave in a similar fashion. Feel free to report it.
Bottom line: thanks for reporting and following up on the issue with Sat&Radar, and you're welcome for my fixing it. I found your comment on this object to be rude and ill-founded (I've had a few of those lately and it set me off), and I responded in a way that let that show. As the injured party, I will not apologize for that. Beyond that, let's let the matter drop. I do appreciate any _constructive_ technical comments people make, such as your F10 observation, even if there's nothing I can do about them.
I'm glad you like it, aside from the rotation. You'll undoubtedly find the UltraLite version less irksome.
Cheers...

I noticed your comment that there's a post 10/6 version I can't find it up on Wincustomize.
Does your 10/5 comment on DynBitmapCaching still apply? The key is not currently in my registry at all I've lost track of DesktopX updates, so I don't know if they're still using it or not.
Thanks!

Re the "10/6" update, where you must mean 10/8, you did find it. This object you're looking at was so updated. Wincustomize doesn't always change the "updated" date.
Re DynBitmapCaching, this is really a question for Stardock. They know if they've messed with the internals of DX. However, I would think it wouldn't hurt to still make the reg change. I use it myself.
