Just wondering how it's working for people ...

Wow, this really kicks ass!
Great work!
You may have just put the antiquated taskbar out of business!
Help me out with a few things please...
1.) I can't seem to get the "current" weather location and temperature to change to my location.
Although it does acknowledge the long-term forecast and location properly.
2.) Do you know which email server to use for Hotmail?... Or is Hotmail even an option?
A drop-down choice list of the more popular servers would be awesome.
3.) Also it would be really great if it were easier to change the clock face.
That alone would dramatically change the look and feel of the dock and give it a more customized appearance.
Most of us already have a nice collection of dock clock icons at our disposal and a quick-change option for this seems to fit.
I tried to change the clock to a different .png but had drastic results.
Nonetheless, OUTSTANDING!!

RUN2J: Thanks. Glad to hear you like it.

As for your issues:

1. Found and fixed
2. As far as I know, Hotmail doesn't use either POP3 or IMAP, so I don't think it will work. I did add an IMAP option to the mail checker.
3. Will think about this. If you have a particular clock you want to use, let me know.

I will submit an updated object, it will be available as soon as it passes moderation
Thanks again

New version uploaded:
Fixed:
1. Weather location text not updating
2. Shortcuts losing their text visiblity
3. "Links" button set to my local drive - now set to Favorites

Added:
1. IMAP option for mail checker
2. Mouse-over "Quicklaunch" button
3. Color hue adjustment (in addition to multiple backgrounds)
4. Updated help

Would it be possible to do this for a 1024x 768 resolution?

I will look into it when I have time - it would entail some adjustment of all the pieces

This is awsome... only one thing I can find wrong. I would prefer it to stay on the desktop as opposed to on top of everything.

sarone: Do you mean you want it to stay docked and not autohide, on the desktop?

Right, on the desktop and not on top of browsers and programs

sarone: Okay, that can be done fairly easily. To do it yourself you will need to put DesktopX into Builder Mode. Then right click on the dock and choose DesktopX, then Properties. On the properties page select the Relation tab. Set the Z-Order either to Desktop level or Normal level, depending on what you want. (If you set to Desktop level, then the dock will never come on top of other apps, even when you click on it.) Let me know if this helps, otherwise I can set one up for you and send it...

Please excuse my ignorance with this question. When I've downloaded Objects in the past there was a dxpack in the download and selecting that loaded the object. How do I use your DesktopX object?

Gary: It normally will download as a dxpack file. If it's not for you it may be that your browser is changing the extension. Try renaming the file to *.dxpack and then execute it. Hope that helps ...

The only thing I would add is that it be resizable.

I agree with Wbwoodford, resizable. Especially for us not-so-common (I think) 1152X864 users.
But anyways it's great!! Keep it up!
