It looks like there's a Firefox ActiveX control now:

http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/mozilla.htm

It's the only thing keeping me fomr using this theme, otherwise it's perfect.

thanks,

Terrific theme - thanks for sharing. Will definitely be my new working environment.

Sadly I managed somehow to permanently crash the RSS news display:
I tried to add 'http://www.heise.de/newsticker/heise.rdf' as RSS source. Header was displayed but no messages (don't know why). But THEN I tried some other feed from 'http://www.presseportal.de/rss/rss.htx' Maybe it is because the header is too long, however the display is corrupted and the control for changing RSS source is not visible anymore. I cannot change it back.

Any suggestions?

Agglo: Not sure why this has happened. You probably need to delete the stored value from the registry.

Unload DesktopX then use Regedit.

I can't remember exactly where in the registry it is (and I'm at work so can't check). It's something like HKCU/Software/DesktopWidgets/Desktop/Newsfeed.

Just search for "DesktopWidgets" or maybe "Desktop Widgets" and delete the newsfeed line in the desktop section.

After that it should work OK when you restart DX. I'll have a look at the problem with these feeds when I get home.

Thank you Martin, removing the feed from the registry fixed the problem.
However I am not sure why the other feed (http://www.heise.de/newsticker/heise.rdf) does not work.

Agglo, these feeds should work now. They are not well formatted which is what causes the problems. The new version is more tollerant of this.

This is a great theme. This is a good shift toward making the desktop a functional space. Nice work. Thanks.

How do I install it? It doesn't come with a DesktopX suite file, just some .PNG's and others...
It looks like a masterpiece, so I would be thankful if you could help me!

SHould be a dxtheme file. Maybe XP SP2 renamed it. Change the extension to .dxtheme and it should be fine!

Jumpinfrog - there are VB scripts in DesktopX themes and some AV programs can be overly sensitive about this. I assume you there is no virus or spyware in it.

Yes, I also can't figure out how to make the news feed work. Where do I go to put in the news feed url?

Sorry - there is a problem in that the BBC have just changed their newsfeed format so the script isn't working for the BBC. I'll try to update it ASAP. The newsfeed URL should be entered by clicking the "?" to the right of the title.

Cheers,

Martin

Hi Martin,

Great theme, but I am having some problems with it:

The script for your calendar doesn't run on my japanese PCs for some reason. Any calendar built using that script has numerous errors that with my limited experience I can't track down. For example, the Silica calendar runs fine.

The Quick links dialog doesn't show the links. I watched as it loaded this time and the links are there, but they disappear when the screen settles in. Is this a resolution issue? How can I find them and make them show?

Finally, the news dialog shows no news available.

Any help any one can offer would be greatly appreciated.
