So I can't help you right now. Give me please some time to finish migration.

I don't know if it's possible or not, but I'd love to have a version of this desktop that I could edit the scripts. For instance, the e-mail and calendar functionality are great to have on the desktop, but I use Exchange as my e-mail and calendaring server, because of work.
Hope your new gear doesn't give you too many fits!

I have 2 minor criticisms..........
(1) A more flexible colour setting would be appreciated. Modern graphics cards allow millions of colours. You give us only 9.
(2) The word "alarming" doesn't mean what you think it means. Shorten it to "alarm".

When I am behind my company firewall (Cisco Pix), network portions of SD Desktop report no internet connection, and do not function. If I am not behind the fiewall (i.e. on public access point), the network portions of SD Desktop seem to work (i.e. I can get weather updates).
The 'Networking' window never shows any active connection, or network activity of any kind, whether I'm on public access point or behind firewall. Just doesn't seem to ever find my network info.
If I have it set on 'System Meters', there is a substantial slowdown in it's operation. Seems like whatever script function is running to populate the 'System Meters' data runs very slowly or is having problems. When I first click 'System Meters', it is slow to populate. If I'm on 'System Meters', and click on one of the other buttons, it is either very slow to change, or it doesn't change at all.
Hope that helps, and I hope you're getting your new Vista box tamed!

Thank you very much for this useful information! But...
I tried to use Vista 64 bit and uninstalled it... The most of my software doesn't work on this system!
So I am on Vista Ultimate 32 bit. All works good except of Stardock programs and a few functions in my old gadgets. I need more time to analize and understand what happened...

My only problem with it is after a few hours of uptime, the widget won't successfully change displays; i.e., going from networking to logical drives or from clock to weather (pretty much leaves a black display screen. I always know when it has this problem.. it gives out a series of beeps every so often.

I have Vista installed on my PC but I don't use SD Desktop on it... (
To Ronald Forth: Thank you very much! Unfortunately I can't help you at this moment because my old Windows XP PC has broken and I can't turn on it (the hard disk don't work)...
As well as I can't work on this project in Vista because of the damn secur32.dll! I think that Microsoft have done a "great gift" for us with this service.
So I have the only little advice for you - Please check your firewall settings. May be it blocks some of SD Desktop scripts?
Best Regards.

I have an anti-malware program (Mamutu by EMSI software) that checks for malware based on an application's behavior rather than any kind of signature. Mamutu particularily does not like widgets, gadgets and desktop objects but it can and will corrupt almost any resident application given enough uptime. I have contacted EMSI but there are a number of other like programs (it's the new thing in malware control)that could cause havoc in other user's applications.

Sorry that I can't make the final version of this gadget because DesktopX doesn't work completely on Vista. So let's wait until Stardock will make the relise of OD 2008. Hope they will finally solve all of DX problems...
I like your idea about Thompson. Seems I really need this thing to "talk" with our damn political prostitutes that destroy my country and disturb me to live here.
Best Regards.

Seems like ICS on my Vista box doesn't recognize that SD Desktop needs it, so the two aren't talking to each other.
