This gadget uses Microsoft ActiveX Control 6.0. Seems you need have Microsoft Office installed to allow it to work correctly...

I'm sorry...

Because I don't have Microsoft Office I'm assuming I have to use the 3.05 Version. But this version crashes. Is this because of Vista SP2?

Is this because of Vista SP2?
May be... But I've tried to run it on Vista SP2 right now and seems it works. Even Translation to Russian! So I think you need find a reason on your own PC...

First of all unload all widgets and gadgets, then:

1. Go here: C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Local\Temp
and delete all folders named like: {E0F00ED8-C487-469E-B01C-22635EC679D4}
or {22B8CF9D-9D16-4612-943B-115C985C15D0}

2. Open a folder:
C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Local\Stardock

3. Find and delete the folder "WeatherLab" if it's available.

4. Restart your computer and try to run a gadget. What do you see now?

Same problem. 3.05 still crashes.

I'm sorry.

Also this may be a problem with some of your user settings or UAC that must be turned on and then hidden. But if honestly this widget is too old and I've done an update only for XP users (by the way with a big problems because I have no XP computer more than 1 year...).

So please, excuse me again but seems I can't help you.

I love this gadget, but I can't use it. I refuses to load any city from anywhere. It just gives me a blank list with nothing in it. The weather list doesn't help because that also just brings up a blank list, nothing in it. I get this with ALL weather widgets from here, too.

Thank you,

However I can't be proud because all these gadgets will be removed next Monday because of TWC... So this is not my proud. This is just my deep pain...

I must say Vad, wonderful piece of work but.... Has anyone else found that the icons for forcast, moonphase, current weather and wind direction vanish over time along with there text? I run XP home (SP3). By over time I mean a couple of days. Everything else appears to work. This causes me to have to clear the widget cache and reload it. And as long as I'm here typing now how about a radar toggle such as was used in 'Looking Glass' weather series? Thanks.

Frankly, I have already tired to explain that this is not a widget. WeatherLab is a stand alone gadget. So it has no "widget cache". It has "gadget cache" that stores in the other place (I forgot where it is on XP...).

Your problem show that you use some software like CCleaner that works incorrect because it REMOVES GADGET CACHE AND ALL IMAGES despite the fact that the gadget is running on your desktop. Just discontinue the using of these programs or don't tell me about this problem.

So this is not my problem (or any gadget error). This is your problem. I'm really can't understand how do you work on computers which even is not configured correctly...

My advice: remove all of the software that disturbs you to use DX gadgets. Then install Tune UP Utilities 2009, use it to setup and configure your computer and be happy. You will be never see this problem.

And as long as I'm here typing now how about a radar toggle such as was used in 'Looking Glass' weather series?
From now I terminated the development of gadgets/widgets. And more than - the development of WEATHER GADGETS (because of the problems with TWC). You people want only lots of free stuff from me. And I'm worked during a few years for each of you. Now I want to see how this community is ready to support me through buying my Master Skins. And if I'll get the bad results you will never see something from me on WC. I just leave this place forever.

Hey Vlad, Thanks for this wondefully useful gadget. Me and my wife use it every day. Since I've used it for free for a long time, I'd like to donate some money to you. I've no idea what the deal is with The Weather Channel but you certainly deserve something for this. Do you have a way for me to donate some small amount of money to you, like paypal or some such? Thanks.

Thank you but...

I'm living in a very strange country. For example I can use PayPal to send money but I can't receive nor one cent through it. Besides I can't have my private bank acount here because of the total control of some bad people. And I can't open it in the USA (after 11 October) or in the any other civilized countries. Etc...

So you may do only one thing for me - just buy one (or more) of my master gadgets...

Now about a good news. I'm finished the beta version of WeatherLab-7. It looks and works much better than all previous versions. As well as it has Animated Maps and Temperature Diagrams! I will not upload it here. Only one screen shot (or two)...

However if you want to use it please send me any email here: EMAIL and you'll get your copy.

Best Regards,
Vad.

Hea Vld, I DON'T WORK WITH THE ITEMS THAT YOU JUST SAID. I don't even know what it means and this is said with my point of view in mind... . I don't know what your real point is except that your rude. SOME OF THE things on stardock just are'nt working well in the last couple of years as they used to work when they were released, and your just one of the problems out there, but thats nothing new. All 'programmers' (I've over 38 years in the field, retired now) have the problem of not looking into a problem but just belittling those that answer your questions as you did ask for in the first place. Sorry but you are just a small guy with a nich on this site. Goodbye and thanks for your time.

7 beta is very nice, Vad. All your old stuff works for me too, contrary to BattleHorse. Anyway, is it possible to set the alternate or secondary location for WeatherLab 7? I can't find the setting for that right now. Got Rainbow Clock and it's very pretty. Thanks for that too. Hope you get some small money for that.
