I'll give this a 10 purely on the grounds that it's nice to see a different type of DX Widget

Great stuff!

Wow, I was thinking at work about metioning an object simailar to this. You could probably whip it up in a flash after this one Custonian. I was thinking of some way to add a button (widget) that would take a screenshot, then upload it to a web server so that a Desktop Screenshot on a personal webpage could be updated with one click.

I haven't been able to run it, the second I load it, it stops responding.

It Requires DesktopX 2.2 to be installed. (Does not have to be running).

Can you expand on 'it stops responding' Does anything appear on the screen, as in the settings window as shown in the screen shot, and are you running Win'XP ?

I'm sorry you are experiancing problems and i have tested this on a number of systems.. i will do what i can to help..

This thing is awesome. Thanks very much.

Can anyone help me skin it? I can't seem to get it to work. I found one avedesk skin, put the files in a dir, and used the widget to point to a skin dir, but it just pops a small dialog box up that has the dir name in it and beeps; then nothing.

So if anyone knows a.) where to get some skins. b.) specific directions for applying them I sure would appreciate it.

I'm using DX 2.4 and I can't get it to work.

Sometimes it even doesn't start.

When I was able to configure a drop, I got a script error.

I'm sure it's a great widget...

Custonian,

This is such a great widget that I would love to put it on my girlfriend's desktop as well (so she could upload her pictures for LiveJournal) but I'm afraid she'll break it every five minutes (since it doesn't behave like a piece of the background, or an icon) Is there any way you could make up a stripped down model (maybe FTP'Drop lite) that has the server info set as variables right in the beginning of the script? Then I could set it up for her and not have to worry about resetting it every time she messed with it. Having the left click maybe open up the destination folder in her browser. I tried opening up the widget as an object, but without any scripting knowledge I've been able to do nothing but break it.

i put all the correct data in, and when i drop the file onto the spot it looks like it is transfering for a second but nothing ends up in my ftp folder. i have tried this on numerous computers and it does not work. could it be my ftp folder?

This may sound silly, but anyone know how to save the information that you input for your ftp server? I can get the program (widget, whatever) to work fine, but everytime I close the object, I have to input all the info again

Hey this rocks. However, it doesn't seem to overwrite files on the ftp server. It would be great if you could set it to auto overwrite of never over write. Also, how would I go about making a skin for this?
