This is the best weather widget I could find! Thanks.......
Allthough I changed the temperature to Celcius (I am in Europe) the weather comments on the icons is still in Fahrenheit. Only the comments/forecast, the temp under the daily icons is Celsius again. Is there a way to change the Fahrenheit in the daily forecasts in Celsius?

Furthermore I would love the implementation of satellite images for Europe......

Jeroen, thanks, I'm glad you like it! Both of your questions were addressed in the readme file.

I've got no complaints about this puppy. Looks great centered within Tiggz' Cabal wallpaper/windoblinds and widgets all around. Good stuff. Very comprehensive widget. Like the option of radar. Love the animations and moon phases. I'll park this one on my desktop for awhile. Thanks.

is there any way to resize the temperature text when the widget is run in minimal mode ? ... it'd be nice to be able to change the color of the text or reposition it in minimal mode, with just the weather symbol showing .. as the temp text kinda overpowers it somwtimes ....

I love his widget! Good work...

I was wondering though, if there is a way to get the temp, ect to update more often? It seems to update every hour or so.

I am just trying DestopX, but have loved it so far. I think I know the answer, but when I buy DesktopX, can I turn the LookingGlass Weather Suite-HQ Object into a widget?

Thanks

Thanks, I'm glad you like it...

On line 12 of the script for the WeatherFrame sub-object, you will find the default setting for how often LookingGlass will update, and you can change that value to whatever you want. By default, LookingGlass retrieves the weather information every 20 minutes. However, you should be aware that Weather.Com, who provides the forecasts, usually only updates the data on an hourly basis. Even if you told LookingGlass to update every minute, usually 59 out of 60 of those updates would accomplish nothing other than using bandwidth.

And yes, all versions of LookingGlass run fine as a widget, which the full version of DX will allow you to make.

Thanks for the info. I did see the line while checking out the script about 20 minutes. It would be nice to have it update sooner, but if the weather service does not update that soon then there is no reason to make it any sooner. I made some modifications to the LookingGlass Weather Suite - Lite Edition object(hope you don't mind) just for me. It appears to be working fine so far. I changed the default zip code and radar map locations to my home. I also made it so when I clicked on the sun/moon/clouds that it closed the 5 day forecast instead of showing the weather radar. I then put a radar button in the lower left corner of the forecast (where the close button was) to open the radar. This is not to say I didn't like the way you programmed it. It is great. I was just seeing what I could do with this program and I like the results. I saved it as an object and when I register looks like I can save it as a widget or gadget depending on what ver

I really like this widget and all of the other ones in its series, but it seems like I keep having problems with them. I first downloaded it in the object form and had some kind of problem that I cannot remember. I downloaded this one and it worked for a while, but now it is messed up. Whenever I load it, the moon or sun is up higher than where it should be, and when I put it into compact mode, part of the box from the detailed mode is showing. I don't know what is wrong because I re-downloaded it and it still would not work. Please help!

I'm having the same problem. I'm sure it's something in a .cfg file somewhere, just don't know where.

This didn't start until after I had used the minize (just the temp & sun/moon) feature. Prior to that the Moon was always within the frame.

Everything has been working fine with this Widget, but I see what you are talking about. Tonight the moon looks like it shifted up and to the left about an inch. Does anyone have an answer for this one?

I did some looking around and deleted the "LookingGlass Weather Suite - UltraLite Edition Widget.exe" folder in:
C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock\DesktopX\WidgetCache
When I loaded the Widget again everything was back to normal. Not sure why it changed. Maybe the cache was corrupt. If that does not help then delete the "lookingglass.cfg" in:
C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock\DesktopX and setup it up again.

Thanks a bunch Starman! That did the trick. I tried looking, too, but obviously not in the right place.

All is right with the widget once again.

Yep, that did the trick. Now let's hope that it does not have the same problem again.

ok, this will never work, but I'm goign to ask for help here. I love this widget! But I've been moved behind a proxy server and now I cannot get the updates on the weather, the radar works, but I can't seem to get the Zip code to change, I've tried delete and reinstall and everything. any suggestions. I even tried to edit the script to have my zip as default, no work there either

Same with all the versions. I cannot change the zip. Luckly I have one that works great. Not sure if its older or his. It just says weather. Looks like the same but WORKS. Just tested the old one and works super..

Just now came across this widget. Weather reporters are a dime a dozen but I've never seen one that includes a radar screen. Wow! For the gadget freaks this is definitely a must have toy/tool. Unfortunately, it won't start raining around here for another 5 months so I've set the configuration for another part of the country in order to watch the green blotches. This is really one of the sharpest things I have seen in a while.

Who reads the newspaper anymore? We have the Internet. Who listens to the weather report on the advertised clogged radio? We have the Internet. And now there is no longer any reason to tune in for the visuals of dopler radar on the evening news. We have this killer widget! Fantastic job.

Is there a chance you will update your widget/objects to work as there has been a change during this summer? I hope so because these are the BEST weather 'programs' I've seen (ever) for desttopx. Thanks, Battlehorse

I have some problems with zip codes. I write Moscow, Russia or RSXX0063 but there are no chandes in weather and location. All widgets about weather don't understend zip codes, and renew weather only by words MOSCOW, RUSSIA. But this widget automaticaly changes city's name to zip code. What can i do to solve this problem?
