I forgot to mention that you can only have 10 that it will speak. And only the first ten will speak. Ill see about making one that will have as many as you want.

Oh now...THIS is fun! Any way to tell it to pronounce "long" and/or "short" vowel sounds in English? Example: My son's name is "Toby", pronouced "TOE-bee"; the widget says "TAH-bee" (which the kids think is funny, and I got it for them, mostly...)

If you right click on the widget and go to properties( or prefrences whatever it is). You can choose different speeds for the voice. Other than that i realy dont now how to answer your question. I realy havent messed with the voice stuff that much. Sorry Ill play around with it a little when im not working.

Not to worry! It's a really fun app for everyone here. I look forward to trying the 'speed choice' for the voice. Great idea. We also found, to our delight, that whole sentences can be entered, and even transferred to the telephone answering machine to greet callers!
I was exposed to 'vocoder' tech in school, in electronics classes, so I realize just how mind-boggling it can be to work with. Wonderful app, many thanks. Keep on making/upgrading this idea and you'll sell 'em on Gadgets.com like hotcakes!!

seldomseen,
I figured out what you where talking about in second post. It was the voice I used, I used Microsoft Sam. If you want import the widget in dx builder, and go to each Object ID with the name: Word1 through Word10 and change the 2nd line that reads:
Const TheVoiceName = "Microsoft Sam" to
Const TheVoiceName = "LH Michael"
Or you can wait a few days and ill post a new one with the different voices like the 'speed choice'.

jlaj1989, if I were making this Widget, I would make it where you could record your voice saying it. Then, the parent could record voices using a password, and then the child could listen to the voices and they wouldn't be able to change the recording to spell the word or anything like that. Get what I'm saying? Just make it where to record a voice/word, you need to enter a password. When I say voice, I mean it literally, as in using a microphone.
