yes, mr. carguy, please don't forget about us scenery lovers. you have the most awesome water and nature dreams! thank you! this one, however, is one that i'll reserve for around October. It's sort of friday-the-13th spooky! Great smooth dream though.

CarGuy1, Why are your Dreams - and so many others - in such an odd resolution? Wouldn't it be better to have them at 1920x1200? It's only an extra 14% area... Why you'd make us HD users put up with stretching is beyond me. I mean, I love your dreams, but I hardly ever download them because they stretch... It's quite annoying. Really what's the point - NOBODY's sreen is at 1792x1120, so if you're not going to set them at 1920x1200, then get rid of the extra pixels and go down to 1680x1050... I'm sure there's a logical explanation to the silliness.... Someone educate me.

The problem is there is not an encoder available that allows those resolutions in MPEG format. I could do those resolutions in WMV but the dream would use far too much CPU to make it practical.

Most widescreen monitors are 16:10 ratio and the most popular size is 22" which the default resolution is 1680x1050.
1920x1200, 1792x1120, & 1680x1050 are all 16:10 resolutions.
TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress, the best encoder available, will allow 1792x1120 but not the other two. This being the case, I would much rather encode at 1792x1120 and maintain the 16:10 ratio, so the dream doesn't look deformed, while maintaining the highest practical resolution possible.

I have yet to see a 1920x1200 dream that is MPEG and I refuse to make a dream that uses too much resources to make it practical to run, which ends up being the case with WMV.
When I find an encoder as good as TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress that allows me to create a mpeg at 1920x1200, I will look into purchasing it.

I hope this betters your understanding as to why the somewhat strange resolution that most dream creators use.

I am a 1920x1200 gal and LOVE your dreams...but, they always have to stretch and it just degrades the quality. Would you consider doing a few in a 1920x1200?

Thanks. I knew there would be some logical explanation.

Wait a second. Ryan Bliss from Digital Blasphemy - creator of some of the most beautiful artificial wallpapers ever (IMO) - has a few DreamScenes encoded in MPEG. And the resolution is 1920x1080. And my CPU usage is at most 5% higher when using his animated wallpapers (as compared to yours). Why don't you ask him what he uses?

Love, love, love this! Mountains and fog - can't rave enough about it. Thank you so much for this, and especially for the previews! I like to see what they look like before I download the dreams, so thanks for this as well. Keep doing the great stuff!!
