Very nice idea, however if I could make some suggestions: It's a bit bright overall, try increasing the contrast and perhaps darkening the room that its in. Lose or tone down the chevron lights, I would feel that the light coming from the event horizon should be the main feature of light for the room as it is in the series. The light on the floor grate pulses with the chevron lights although it's clearly supposed to be the light from the event horizon, so try get that light to properly reflect the event horizon. There is a noticeable hiccup when the video loops. In the event horizon the water motion shows two distinct types of motions, the horizontal one doesn't seem very natural. Is it possible for you to redo the ripples to be more natural as in some cgi generated water found in other scenes here? I hope the comment helps. Keep it up 
I'd love a scene like this when it reaches it's final version.
