mormegil, You've done an absolutely outstanding job on these. I cannot thank you enough for the tutorial. I've tried making icons of my own, and not being a graphics artist and not knowing the tools, has meant I've had a difficult adventure just coming up with simple icons, let alone anything like this. Your tricks, comments on the tools etc, and the examples are better than anything I've found... and believe me I've looked.

Perhaps I've missed it, but some comments on the basics might help as well, like what sizes to start the designs at, what angles to use for the best perspective look. The truly simple things are the hardest to figure out, I've found.
One last thing, and I am not nit-picking.. I think these are outstanding... but you missed touching up about 6 of your icons for the front reflection. A half dozen or so are still using the angled front reflection. I don't know if you've left them that way on purpose, or not. Regardless... they are truly stunning ! Thanks very much !

You Probobly need to update to IP 3.0 if you have any older version of IP you can get it for free.

Great job Paul. Wish I could go through your articles on doing these icons but I'm using Photoshop and I'm too lazy to start using Corel Draw.

I dont think we will make it that far, utopia had 150 each color, and they were all unique in some way. We will see, I still need to package up the bonus Icons.

The Utopia icons were unique in that each color had their own corner design (i.e. one set had -O-, another had O=, on the corner of the Closed Folder icon and in the monitor for the My Computer icon)
