very nice and elegant,but is there a version of the base icons only...u know,without the grass,bubbles,flag,etc...? i think they look awesome on their own.

Before I say anything further let me admit that this is a nice set of icons. Having said that, let me state the fact that I am from India and I no way find the flags disgracing. I guess Andrey Ostanin was a bit too strong with his feelings. If he doesn't like something he can always make a choice for something different.

Thanks Rahul, I appreciate your thoughts. Andrey is entitled to his/her opinion. I don't have a problem with that. Some people just can't help themselves.

I'm guessing that he didn't understnd the description as to why you did the icons... If I understand some of what he is saying, I'll admit too that icons based on a flag seems a little sour (maybe all flags of all countries would be really cool.. hint hint) but... I do believe this seems to me very tasteful and in spirit of the reason as to why you uploaded it. So no problems here.
Now if only somebody could do something like this with the 50 states.... hmmmm...

I agree a set for each country would be nice, but would also be a great deal of work. If others are interested in taking on the task, I'd be more than happy to post the templates.

Andrey...go back to Russia. I love the American Flag and these Icons...keep 'em coming. I'll proudly use them from time to time. After all these are supposed to be fun, right?

The motive behind them was reverence for the tragedies of 9/11.
James T only made them because of that- not because he is a nationalist or obsessed with America- or flags .
For those of you in other countries- please try to understand. 9/11 was something we never thought would happen on our soil- and all nations were hurt by it, because America is actually a melting pot of all countries.

something tells me this is going to be a major story for comments. I feel this is the internet (although wincust is based in USA) and even if it was just the USA, he has the right to have his opitnion and post it. Who says he downloaded it? He just had an opinion. Also keep in mind that english is not his first language so some of what he said could have come off a little harsh (aslo keep in mind he comes from a diffenent culture... some culture don't have a word for please or hello but have many words for love and snow)

Flags do not 'belong' on a desktop in such numbers, no matter what the motive ( ...
However the design is good allthough i would never dream of using them as i think they are too squared to look at and i'm not from the us ..
