You could do better than just simply replacing the "ray of light" as you put it. maybe adding a little something to every logon component would be nice.

First look at this would make one think he is using the default xp style. Perhaps, changing the background color to a deeper shade of blue would be a great start. Try it. A little change and tweak here and there wouldn't hurt.
