Looks as if the download link takes you to the screenshot.

I edited the URL for the download link to grab the obpack. The theme loads in ObjectBar, but only clears the screen. No visible theme or bars at all.

The bar is there, I think its just off screen. Here are the steps I took to get it working:

1. right-click the desktop. It displays the theme's start panel though bit messed up.
2. Adjust the the start menu's components by dragging them to get its top bar and bottom bar to align.
3. Press the menu's edit OB config.
4. There are two sections that make the task bar at the bottom. Dock the lower one (with the shortcuts) to the desktops bottom edge.
5. Dock the one that holds the actual tasks to the top of the screen edge so that it'll appear.
6. Undock the the secton from 5. and drag it down to the screen and place it above/next the section in step 4 where it belongs.
7. Now click the start button. it'll display the start menu Drag the start menu above and to the left of the bottom bars where you'd normally expect it to go.
8. Right click the bottom of the start button (since the start button is really composed of two bars), and go to its properties. Select the option to NOT align the popup. (This will force the popup to leave the startmenu alone where you placed it and not move it over the top part of the task bar).
9. In OB's general config options, tell it not to use the defined menu, which happens to be the start menu) when right clicking the desktop.
10. Save the OB theme, cuz you don't wanna do this again

Whoa. I just realized, yeah, the download DOES only download a jpeg (I downloaded the theme from LOS). Anyways the previous post is what I did to get the theme to display.

Very nice! Like the tran calendar in the left top corner of your screenshot. Can you tell me what program you used for the calendar.

Thank you,

Sorry for the newbie questions, but I am new to skinning. I am running DesktopX Alpha right now and its awesome, but wanted to run this Autumn one. I have downloaded the object bar, but cannot find the desktopX files and the background file. I was under the impression that it was all bundled in the one file. How do I get those files since this is one awesome desktop?

Thanks,
Patrick

I really like the OB theme and the wallpaper, very professionally done and pleasing to the eye in the screenshot, but I've had the problem some others have reported - when you load the theme it's off the screen and graphics are VERY large when you do get any components to partially appear (hitting the Windows key pops part of the start menu onto the left half of the screen). It must have something to do with having made it at that very high res & I run at 1024x768 - it doesn't appear to be "resizable" to my desktop res. I also can't find the wallpaper (or how to get to it) at the link you've provided. When those two problems get fixed, please post an update - I'd love to give it a test drive. Chris's workaround is a bit daunting & it's hard for me to picture what he's describing, thick-headed as I am.

Scratch the wallpaper comment - I see it's in the download. Told you I was thickheaded.

I'm thicker-headed than even I thought - I can't find the wallpaper in the download after all, at lease not with WinZip.

The wallpaper is in the download file. I found it. Mine installed when I click on it in the following path: C:\Program Files\Object Desktop\Object Bar\armx

armx is the background.

The way that I got the object bar to work is to install it. Yes its off the screen since I use 1280x1024. I then start the objectbar program again and it comes up with a GUI that will enable me to set the bar to fix at the bottom. If you look on the left side of the object bar program, you will see 'Autumn Bar Bottom' and 'Autumn Bar Top'. Click on the orientation tab and at the bottom of the page is the docking for it. Change this to dock to bottom.

Only problem that I have is there are 2 bars. The top piece and the bottom piece. Sometimes it comes up in the right place, sometimes they are flipped. I have to manually set them to float, then dock them one ata a time to the bottom to get them to appear right the way they should be with the top on the top and the bottom part on the bottom. Also, BandVWM still gets larger and smaller depending on what Icons are on the right. Its annoying. Still trying to figure out how to make that a fixed size over there.

Other than that this theme is the greatest. Its my theme that I will probably use for a long time...

Thanks for the hook in the nose and the directions, Patrick. I'll give it a go & see if I can get it all working. A question, however - what do you mean, literally, when you say "I then start the objectbar program again..." - exactly how? Thanks again.

This is a nice theme, but it doesn't run correctly at resolutions under 1600x1200 (I'm guessing since I'm at 1280x1024)

What you have to do to get the bar working at lower rezes is hit CRTL-ESC to get your old start menu and load ObjectBar again which will bring up the Theme Editor.

Once you have the Theme Editor up you choose Retreive Lost Bars under Theme Tools.

You can then use CTRL+drag to move the bars around in the main area, but I don't know how to fix the start menu.

I had problems with it too. It definitely needs to be running at 1600x1200 to work.
