I liked this icon alot but i didnt have any generic places to put it, so i tossed a mass effect icon on top of it. it looks sexy. if you want it to add to your collection im happy to give you my edit.

i'm not sure what is a mass effect icon.. anyway i'm curious, i'll be happyu top check it out, maybe you can upload it to rapidshare or send it with email, you can pm me if you like to change emails. Anyway i'm happy you found a use for it and it looks sexy

Hi zxcorp. To make it work you'll need this docklet : https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=2074&libid=29&p=3 . Then copy the Images from here to any location (for example - C:\Program Files\Stardock\ObjectDock\Bundled Images\Misc Icons\Animated Icon) Then configure the animated shortcut to point to the image and setup the speed in ms (100ms for example) , you can also edit the target to point to any aplication or link. Hope it helps, check out my other animated shortcuts for more help and cool animations

While you're on the docklet page zigboom pointed you to, have a look at comment #67 there - it does a pretty good job of going into more detail. I really like this icon, adds a little zip to the ol' dock �

Thanx DaveRI for pointing to the right location & for the very nice feedback. right .. it took some work to put it together, all hand work basicly layer by layer ... Anyway i enjoyed & learned a few tricks on the way .. & the best thing anyway is to see you guys like it!

Thanx forzaitalia for your feedback. so, to make an animated png you need to have a sequence of frames that will loop nicely. i'm using gimp as visual editor(it's similar to phoitoshop but it's free and open source). then when you have the sequence you can usi Aniutil to join the frames as a filmstrip. Another way could be to extract the frames from gif or avi and then use Aniutil (search google for it).. hope it helps.

Well, there are some other formats, even a new animated png format called APNG.. Anyway, here it's a simple and smart trick .. we join the frames as a filmstrip(by Aniutil it's easy). The frames must be square so the animated docklet can figure how many frames there are then create the frames again and display the animation. The main advantage of png is that it can have transparency (gif cannot).. also the quality is better.

Hello Zigboom, I don't know what I'm doing wrong but Aniutil doesn't stitch my png very well, everything is always shrunk or in black and white... strange. How do you make you icons appeared in 3D and how do you do a reflection? (light coming from the top). Check out my 2 animated icons, you are the one who inspired me. Thanks.
