Hate to do it but...while I love the screenshot, I can't figure out what to do with the .dockzip. Winrar nor winzip will open it, so it is obviously a theme file like a .wba extension..but nothing is associated with, tried to open it with ObjectDock.exe to no avail. I am using OD plus 1.4.

.dockzip
The dockzip is a self installer Casper. Are you using the free version of OD? Because it does work.

Hi Frankell, the bottom position is the only dock position this technique works with at this time. The Reflecting Icons have the reflective portion of the Icon beneath the Icon's body. This would not work on a Top, Left or Right Position. The reflection in Icons in the the Top Position would have to be inverted (reflecting from above, requiring different customized Icons)and Left/Right positions would show the reflecting Icons detached and in suspension, which again would not look correct. My Reflecting Icons in a Top, Left or Right Dock could perhaps benefit from your own Dockrama Tiled implementation where the Icons (Animated and Static) are encapsulated.

Hi TrueScot, my "motto": << ...only for personal fun&share ! >> is referring not only to the skins but also to the ideas ...I'll be glad if you are going to use (+ modify for your needs) the Dockrama code (.ini file) !

Thanks to everyone who downloaded the Mirror Dock. Make this your special dock, add your own reflective icons. To make them just edit an icon - pretty much any graphic tool will do it - I use PhotoShop Elements. Copy the image, rotate the copy vertically (or 180 degrees)and move it below the original image so that only 20% of the inverted image is left below the original, and that is all there is to it. If you want you can gradiate the 20% reflection portion of the image or you can add transparency. I prefer to leave it 100% opaque, that way it look like a reflection in a mirror and not from a piece of glass. Then, if you like your work publish it and let us all download it. You will also find the 3D Rotating and Reflecting Mercedes Star complements the Mirror Dock perfectly, and don't forget the Can of Beans to put a smile on your face when you need it On its way are mirrored platforms for left and right docks so keep your eyes open for an upgrade.

ok here goes this, have you actually seen how a mac's dock looks? well it reflects every icon of the dock like yours, like a mirror, unfortunately theres already an user that publish one call leopard dock and thats exaxtly how the one the mac leopard looks but without the reflecting effect, so i was wondering if you can merge or create one that looks like leopard dock but also with the reflecting effect? that will be AWESOME!!! thanks bro, take care...

Hello pmanssur, I've looked at the Leopard Dock you talked about and it is a cracker isn't it? I have a number of Reflecting Icons published all of which will give you the effect you are looking for in the Leopard Dock. The reflection effect you are looking for comes not from the dock but from the icons themselves. Try them for yourself, you can find them in my gallery. The technique stems from the position of the icon in the background.ini file. It ensures the foot of the reflection is always positioned at the foot of the non-tabbed background dock and, together with the 5:1 ratio of the icon image ensures the foot of the image - before the reflection - on mouseover expansion does not exceed the top of the background dock - otherwise the icon would look as if it was suspended above the dock. Try including this in the background.ini file of the Leopard dock:- [Background] Image = background bottom.png (or whatever its called in the Leopard Dock folder) LeftWidth = 100 RightWidth = 100 OutsideBorderTop = -27 OutsideBorderBottom = 5 OutsideBorderLeft = 50 OutsideBorderRight = 50 Good luck
