I'd like to try it .. but where does the file SystemsCommands.exe go? It would be nice if there was a readme file within the zip file for those that aren't used to doing such things.

So basically .. how do you set it up?

Thanks!

Hi MrBiggZ,

Sorry that I have not added a readme file.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Copy the SystemCommands.exe to a folder you want to (e.g. "C:\program-files\Docklets\").
Then make a new shortcut to "...Docklets\SystemCommands.exe" on your Dock.
Now, if you click the left mouse button (on the SystemCommands-Icon) the Menu should open.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I hope, I could help you!

Andreas ..

Ok .. that makes sense! Now .. how to you get the animated part of it to go?

Because if I switch the icon to the .png that you gave you get a bunched up version of the graphic frame by frame.

It's getting there!

Thanks again!

How to set the animated icon:

----------

First you have to download "Animated Shotcut"-Docklet by AndreasV https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=2074&LibID=29

---------

After installing the Docklet:

Do a right-click on your dock, goto "Add" and then on "Animated Shortcut".

Then the Dock creates a new "?"-Icon. Rightclick on this Icon to set properties. In the opening window you can change the Program-Path, Shortcut-Image (Animation), ...

---------

I hope this helps you!

Hi Andreas,

I suggest to rename "Idlestate" (Ruhezustand) to "Hibernate" that is more commonly used for this state.
Typing error: use "System Properties" instead of "Systemproperties".

Your app is well done, so it's worth eliminating minor flaws to get it perfect

Thanks!

Hi Gents ~~ Andreas...nice docklet but I also am one who gets no option available to me to link the docklet to the .exe when I right click on the nicely spinning .png ....If I begin with a "?" then it doesn't spin -- only the multiple images all bunched up -- but the .exe DOES work.

Any new ideas?

This works great. Thank you so much, you have allowed me to eliminate two other docklets from my dock (start menu and shut down).

To those having problems getting the animation to work properly, make sure that you have the 'animated shortcut' docklet that he links above, the simple animation docklet will not work. Once installed, you just set the path to the .exe and to the image.

Just cause it wasn't mentioned -- Put a copy of "anishortcut.DLL" (from the aforementioned link in comment #7)in either the /docklets folder or the /objectdock folder. One of those works..."System Commander.exe" can go in the /docklets directory, though that really doesn't matter I think.

Oh and contrary to the opening declaration, Hibernate is still Idlestate. Don't be fooled!

Anyway, it's a sexy little thing!

Hahaha ...this is a prime example of "rushing a product to market"

Even on the "English" setting, there's still a German command in the "Control Panel" menu. "Systemeigenschaften." Clicking it bring s up the System Properties window.

When I download this docklet, I get what is apparently the original version prior to the updates (10/8/2005). Am I missing something, or did the wrong version get uploaded?

I have a docket that toggles my taskbar on or off, with the sys-com docket I can eliminate the windows taskbar altogether. Niceone
