IOBit Advanced SystemCare with Antivirus just lit up with a Trojan.Generic.7287998 alert on the DisplayAdapter.exe addon!

Must be a false positive, AVG shows it clear, I have used it for more than two-years with no issues or reports from other users. The plugin is written by one of the Rainmeter Developers - Plugin page.

You are getting a false positive.  The file is clean and is safe to download and use.

I had to download the Rainmeter 2.4 (beta) to run Cobalt 2.6 so I don't know which caused the alert. I was running "Carbon and Ice II" and "Cobalt 2.5" with the prior version of Rainmeter without any problem.

This may be a false positive, but for now Displayadapter will remain in quarantine!

All you lose is the information in the hover-popup, so no biggie.

I have an unusual problem with this version of Cobolt and it's not clear if it's because of the beta of Rainmeter.  I've created a sidebar of a few of your kins and they work great.  However, when I reboot my computer, all but one or two are invisible.  I can click where they should be and select refresh skin and they reappear.  An additional wrinkle is if I have widgets from any other Rainmeter skin running then after a reboot the Cobolt skins are all visible.  Remove the other skin and they go invisble on reboot again.

There are no significant universal changes for skins in this release, only the two additions and some fixes in the odd skin, in short, the bulk of them are identical to 2.5, so they should work fine.

If your sidebar is a separate skin is it appearign 'on top', i.e. right click skin, > settings and check there.  The other possibility is as you say the Beta, however I read the forums every day and have seen nothing similar reported.

I'll close all my additional skins and see if I can get the same issue.

Turns out using another skin doesn't universally fix the transparency problem.  I tried a few more and found at least one that didn't help.  Checking settings > transparency the skins are set to 0%.  I think this started with beta 2.4 but am not sure.

Probably worth you flagging this up for the Devs at Rainmeter forums to investigate.
