I'm sorry I guess maybe i should have added it to the info that you may need the 3ivx codec which can be found here http://www.free-codecs.com/download/3ivx.htm There is a small possibility that if you have divx installed the screensaver may work fine also. What it is , is that i encoded the video for the screensaver with the 3ivx codec, but i actually wasnt thinking about whether people would have the codec installed. but on the bright side 3ivx is a great codec it plays all of my avi's that have been compressed in divx format and best of all it's FREE!

Had same problems as other user. I have Divx installed. I installed the codec as suggested, still doesn't work. Too bad, I was a big fun of KIT. Hopefully somebody else who knows what he/she is doing can make a good screensaver and not this poor release.

Besides that, If you downloaded the screensaver and installed it properly into your windows/system32 folder and you have the 3ivx codec installed properly and the kitt screensaver still dont work then maybe you need something other than your daddy's 386sx33 to run it

FANTASTIC!!!! I have just the divx codec installed but works fine I think as you stated above the guy who had no rite to criticise has a 486 dx33 with 8meg of ram and wonders why his windows 3.1 wont run it lol. Cheers for making this sweet saver as i have the red flashing leds on the front of my pc and this just matchs brilliantly. Cheers for the effort. FREE effort i might add

Thank you ever so much markyrw2!!!!!!! Finally someone with some common sense! and thanks for letting me know that the divx codec worked for you also, because I was just guessing at that one

Noooo! This is like, the coolest screensaver ever, but i can't play it! I have 3Gb free space left, 256Mb RAM, running on Windows XP, and the preview window will run it fine. It's in the system32 folder, i have the divx AND 3ivx codecs installed, but it still just exits the screensaver after the Jack The Reaper logo. *cry noises*

I'm sorry Kyomaru try the newest divx or 3ivx........it works for everyone else so you should be able to get it. It sounds like your system should run it no problem. Try uninstalling both codecs and then try installing the 3ivx and divx codecs in a seperate order and see what happens. I ended up having to do that trick myself, I believe i got both codecs to work by installing the 3ivx codec first.

Ah, i see, because i had the divx codec installed already, then i downloaded the 3ivx codec. OK, i'll give it a go. Hopefully it should work. Thanks for the help.

I'm only using the K-Lite Codec Pack (which emulates other codecs), and this thing runs relatively happily for me; but still gives the .scr illegal operation error, when I try to access the config box.

But who bloody cares... I've got KITT on my MONITOR!!!!!

You rock dude, so what if it's an "amateurish" effort, betcha those geeks whinin' about amateurs got their fair share of amateur pics and movies on their HDDs

Hats off to you Reaper... now to browse yer other offerings...

I have my monitor set up with 1600x1200, and it's a small little bar across the top. Did I do something wrong, or is the resolution not supported? Otherwise looks and sounds great, but I'd like to have it fit my monitor.

Technically this version was made on my old computer and the screensaver itself is video based and the video is at 320 x 240, so that could be the problem...... I plan on updating all of my screensavers soon because now I myself run a resolution of 1680 x 1050. So hopefully the ones I make or update in the future will be better for todays higher resolution monitors.
