Got it working by selecting a fireplace that I wanted in the desktop properties control panel & choosing settings. IT worked fine, some additional *crackling that should not have been included with the sound, I used preview, also even setting it to 16bit there was still high CPU usage. Using XP Pro SP2 4GB RAM. A bit too high usage for a ScreenSaver for me, but love the idea.

This works fine for me too, WindowsXP Media Center 2005 SP2.
I also agree with comment #2. The sound of the crackling could be a longer loop and remove popping noise in audio.

It installs 27 trace files on your computer,if you install some of the bundled 3rd party software, which collects data regarding your installed programs and their usage, your internet browsing activities, your downloads etc. This is true of all Acer screensavers and they should be carefully installed.

I tried installing it on vista in compatability mode with XP Sp2. No help in making it work.
