I haven't made a skin myself. There are tutorials at Stardock or ask one of the artists who made one, they are the best!

This is a beta version and only available to owners of Object Desktop. You can go to Stardock.com to find out about purchasing their products. If you like customizing your desktop I highly recommend them.
