That was the best F1 race I've seen in ages. I'm jealous that you were there live, and in the case of Schumi's wreck, a little too close for comfort...

Fairyy~ ...the building in the background....just above those people on the track is Race Control. I'm an Observer....aka a 'Jafo' and am in radio [landline] communication with Race Control [and the other 25 radio points on the circuit], hence the orange box on my belt and the headphones and mike...

So...your on " duty " and not just a spectator....
I haven't been to a car race in years but I used to enjoy " funny car " races..The hot spot in the northeast usa was " Epping, New Hampshire "

Yes, it was my 27th consecutive Australian Grandprix as an Official....27 years. I started as an Official in the mid 70's.
I do remember around 1980 or so actually PAYING to go as a spectator. Once. Never again....
