XP all the way!
It ain't broke so it never had to be fixed! XP support will continue to 2015. I've had a Vista Ultimate system for almost 3 years now, fully loaded with Stardock and I still haven't migrated. It's my choice, I love how XP customize way better. So they're going to have to pry XP from my dead bloody hands!

One last thing! I still haven't been given a straight answer to a very simple question presented to guru's and self professed powerusers, "what is it that I can accomplish with Vista or Windows7, that I cannot do with XP?" And that's why I'm in no rush what so ever to migrate to either operating system.

For some reason, when saving as a jpg to upload here, the color of the font gets washed out, it's much oranger when saved as a png.
Ya know.. I hate the quality loss of having to use jpgs to upload. I used to use Photoshop to save the highest quality jpg I could which came out well. But I don't have Photoshop anymore so I've been stuck with the degraded quality of the MS Paint jpgs. Recently I tried out Snagit 9 for the 30 day trial and if you use that and save as a png first and then a jpg it does get a better quality. But once the trial ran out on that I started looking through different things on my pc and I just noticed a couple shots back that I had Picasa 3 on my pc which I'd completely forgotten about. So now I use MS Paint to save the initial shot as a png and then open up Picasa and in there I go to the ss I want and then export it as a jpg. Still not as good a quality as before but definitely a better quality than the jpgs from MS paint and not a bad free solution for a little better quality.

Thanks alot Zakai, I'll try Picasa. I did just find a great free program called Faststone Image Viewer http://www.faststone.org/ which I'll be using from now on instead of mspaint (I don't have photoshop either.

Damn this is what customizing is all about! What a great shot! You are the real deal.
what is it that I can accomplish with Vista or Windows7, that I cannot do with XP
This is a problem. I'm at the crossroads. Need a new computer. Get one built? Have them put 7 or XP? Pay more dual boot both? There's some real deals out there right now sporting 7. I too love XP but it's been around for 10 years! What to do?

Thanks Chas, much appreciated! It was alot of tweaking, but it was fun. I still love XP too, especially since I found a whole lot of little apps and programs to tweak the system. I'm planning on doing a journal entry on my DA with the names and links for them - just wish I had found them years ago. I've been wanting to get a new 18.4" laptop, but I would still have my little one with XP to play with. I just hope the skinning will be just as good on Win7 - cause if I'm stuck with a big orb as a start button - I'm gonna scream!!!

You're suppose to backup all your skins and customize goodies then move on C-bo! Windows7 is the way now! As long as I've known you I've always called you the Innovator. I suspect after you spend some time with the new OS, we'll be calling you that again!
