Since I upgraded my laptop to a 18.4", I find that I have all this extra space on the side, since webpages are kinda narrow. I wanted to create a sidebar that had what I needed at a glance without having to close my browser (I got the idea from a Rainmeter skin that JSMorley released
Link With a narrow tabbed dock at the bottom, I can access everything I need. The taskbar is on auto hide on the right of the sidebar, so it is not popping out till I actually need it.
Kenz0 from Rainmeter.net and Customize.org just came out with this classy clock and calendar that I had to use. There's also a weather app, but I didn't have room in the sidebar for it.
I didn't want to have anything hiding behind my browser, so I used a beautiful neutral wallpaper by Murasaki (permission
granted to use modded version for screenshot only), added the graphic from the clock and added the sidebar to it.
