I am working on touching up one of my old 3ds models. It is a car..took about 8 hours to model.. 3 hours to set up lights. 4 hours to make and apply textures. It is a car..sporty looking. Made up. I am going to add some atmospheric effects like dust..and I also plan to maybe get a picture of a road or take one so I can use that as my ground texture. It will be up in a few days (working on other things at the moment)

I deleted the full view...it looked crappy, it was made in 3dsmax r2.5 and re-rendered years later in r5. Before i didn't render with all of the material and atmospheric effects since this was back in the day and I had to complete it quick enough (rendering with all of the material and atm effects took about 8 minutes per frame on that computer; takes 2 minutes a frame on this one.) Sorry I didn't like the full view and neither did anyone else. This angle, however, still captures the best of that animation.

First, do a bit of touching up around the side step. The actual pavement is fine but the street itself is wrong in 3 ways: 1) too pixelated, try rendering it big and rerendering a few times for an auto anti-aliasation. 2) This isn't the kind of material for a street like this is it? it would most likely be tarmac. You can also try bending a slope down into the gutter and curving the step, and/or you can put slopes for bicycles

Um...I am sorry that the sidewalk doesn't slope. I am also sorry that the street is made of a material that isn't common by your standards. You know there are other places in the world. I assume you don't travel much (or travel diversely at least). The thing you are talking about rendering several times is called super-sampling. I rendered this in 3dsmax, which doesn't super-sample. Anyways I use that in openGL for antialiasing in certain cases...it wouldn't make anything sharper, only blurier. Like I said before, this is an ancient project, therefore I am not revisiting it.
